when you are back in the
classroom do the following: |

double-click the WB-links to open the
whiteboard-files |
| |
double-click the AU-links to open the
audio-files |

STEP 1 |
OPEN WHITEBOARD FILES
WITH NETMEETING |
|

Microsoft Netmeeting is used
to open the whiteboard files |
|
| |
ACTIVATE NETMEETING 3.01 |
| |
Netmeeting
version 3.01 is already in your Windows operating system but it is
hidden, it does not show up in " All Programs " |
| |
If you have not
used Netmeeting before, you need to activate it, then initialize it, see
steps below |
| |
Do NOT download
Netmeeting 3.01 from the Microsoft site - it will not download |
| |
|
| |
METHOD 1:
right-click and
save the file |
| 01 |
go to
the Start menu and select Run |
| 02 |
type
Conf and click OK |
| 03 |
the Netmeeting
configuration wizard will start, go through the installation steps, you
will be asked to place a Netmeeting icon on the desktop |
| 04 |
in the
online classroom right-click the WB link
|
| 05 |
select " Save Target As " |
| 06 |
the " Save As
" panel will come up |
| 07 |
select the
Desktop icon and click on Save |
| 08 |
the file will
download |
| 09 |
when
download is complete click on the Close icon |
| 14 |
go to the Desktop and
double-click the file |
| 15 |
the whiteboard will
launch |
| 16 |
if you get a file error or a whiteboard error,
click
OK, the error will disappear |
| 17 |
go to
" FILE " at the top of the whiteboard |
| 18 |
select
" OPEN " |

open your whiteboard file by
selecting Desktop then double-click on the file |

the new
whiteboard will open and you should see data |

if you dont see
the new whiteboard, press the Start key on your keyboard, and
look for the new whiteboard icon in your Task-bar |

open your whiteboard file by

STEP 2 |
MINIMIZE THE WHITEBOARD |
|

after the whiteboard has
launched succesfully, mimimize it |

STEP 3 |
DISPLAY THE ONLINE CLASSROOM
|
|
| |
after you have minimized the
whiteboard, you should see the online classroom |
|
| |
if you dont see the online
classroom, then find the classroom icon in your task-bar |
press the
start-key on your keyboard to display the task-bar |
| |
|
|
|
STEP 4 |
OPEN THE AUDIO-FILE |
|
| |
when the online classroom is
displayed, double-click the GREEN button to run audio |
click here if you dont hear audio |
| |
the audio-file is a
streaming file and it will start to play immediately after you click it |
|
| |
you will see the Windows
MediaPlayer panel |
click here if you dont see the panel |
| |
the MediaPlayer panel is
only used for audio, there is no video content in it |
|
| |
all the data is displayed in
the whiteboard |
|
| |
|

STEP 5 |
MAKE THE SIZE OF THE
MEDIAPLAYER PANEL SMALLER |
|
| |
in this step we do not mean
that you have to minimize the mediaplayer panel |
|
| |
we need to make the size of
the panel small, so that it will not block the whiteboard |
|
| |
first maximize the
mediaplayer panel |
|
| |
at the top icons, click on
View |
|
| |
then select Skin Chooser |
|
| |
then select the Revert skin |
|
| |
then click on Apply Skin |
|
| |
the MediaPlayer panel will
now be very small |
|
| |
move the panel to the
upper-right corner of the screen so it will not block the whiteboard |
|
| |
|
|
|
STEP 6 |
DOCK THE MEDIAPLAYER
|
|
| |
this is to keep the
mediaplayer panel at the top of the screen |
|
| |
so that it will not dissapear
when you flip the pages in the whiteboard |
|
| |
right-click anywhere on the
panel |
|
| |
select Options |
|
| |
select Keep The Player On
Top Of Other Windows |
|
| |
|
|
|
STEP 7 |
DISPLAY THE WHITEBOARD |
|
| |
look in the task-bar for the
Whiteboard Icon |
|
| |
click the Icon,
it will bring up the whiteboard |
|
| |
maximize the whiteboard |
|
| |
move the Mediaplayer panel
at the upper right corner of the screen |
|
| |
|

STEP 8 |
HOW TO WORK WITH THE
WHITEBOARD CONTROLS |

look at the bottom-right
corner of the whiteboard, you will see the pager |
|
| |
click on the black arrows,
you can move forward and back |
|
| |
look at the top of the
whiteboard icons, click on View |
|
| |
uncheck Toolbar |
|
| |
uncheck Status bar |
|

in the Mediaplayer panel you

HOW TO FOLLOW A SESSION
WITH BOTH AUDIO AND WHITEBOARD |

you can control the
whiteboard and audio files independently |
|

start the audio-file at the
beginning and start the whiteboard file on page 1 |
|
| |
listen to audio and flip to
the next page in the whiteboard |
|
| |
you can stop either the
whiteboard or audio-file at any time |
|
| |
|

| |
